Supplier Quality Engineering Intern

About the role#

Vast is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineering Intern to support the development of systems for human-rated space stations. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability of space vehicle components by managing screening, testing, and supplier quality processes. This is a full-time, 12-week internship based in Long Beach, California.

What you'll do#

• Communicate screening and testing requirements to internal departments and external suppliers.
• Submit Requests for Quote to external suppliers for component screening and testing.
• Document and record test report data, reliability data, and supplier quality data.
• Assist in the development and implementation of testing processes for various component types.
• Conduct supplier audits and document results.
• Identify and document supplier non-conformances and work with suppliers to meet quality requirements.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work full-time, on-site in Long Beach, CA.
• Proficiency in creating and updating RFPs, POs, and work orders within ERP software.
• Analytical skills to identify and document non-conformances.
• Effective communication skills for relaying data between employees, vendors, and customers.
