About the role#
As a Supplier Quality Engineering Intern, you will support the development of systems required for the design and build of human-rated space stations. This role is essential for maintaining reliability across all space vehicle systems. You will report to the Staff Electronics Piece Parts Engineer and work on-site in Long Beach, California, for a 12-week term during Fall 2026.
What you'll do#
- Communicate screening and testing requirements to internal departments and external suppliers.
- Submit Requests for Quote to external suppliers for component screening and testing.
- Document and record test report data, reliability data, and supplier quality data.
- Assist in developing and implementing testing processes for various component types.
- Conduct supplier audits and document the results.
- Identify and document supplier non-conformances, working with suppliers to meet quality requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Long Beach, California.
- Proficiency in creating and updating RFPs, POs, and work orders within ERP software.
- Strong analytical skills to identify and document non-conformances.
- Ability to communicate data effectively between internal teams, vendors, and customers.
