About the role#
The Lab Intern role supports R&D scientists with routine laboratory tasks, sample management, and documentation. This is a hands-on, on-site position based in our Warren, New Jersey laboratory. We are looking for students who can commit to at least 20 hours per week, typically over 2 to 3 days.
What you'll do#
- Manage incoming and outgoing formulation prototypes, including packing and shipping samples for customer requests and maintaining the sample tracker.
- Manually fill and label formulation prototypes into appropriate containers like jars, tubes, and bottles.
- Repack raw materials for meetings, trade shows, and customer events.
- Support inventory management for raw materials and laboratory supplies.
- Assist scientists with stability-chamber sample management, including recording temperature and humidity data.
- Move, organize, and store laboratory items.
- Calibrate laboratory equipment following established SOPs.
- Assist with laboratory batch-making activities for products like creams, gels, and lotions.
- Comply with all laboratory safety procedures, site policies, and SOPs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, such as Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Sophomore standing or above is preferred.
- Basic understanding of R&D laboratory environments.
- Ability to follow safety practices and laboratory SOPs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard office software including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to safely lift up to 15 pounds.
- Previous laboratory experience or coursework involving laboratory techniques is preferred.
