About the role#
As a Student Radiology Tech II, you will assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You will prepare patients for exams, operate x-ray equipment, and ensure that every patient feels safe and comfortable. This is a part-time position based in Culpeper, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Operate x-ray equipment and follow established protocols to capture images of internal structures.
- Explain procedures and post-procedure instructions to patients to help them feel at ease.
- Maintain sterile equipment and clean fields.
- Perform equipment warm-ups and quality control checks.
- Adjust camera settings to achieve proper contrast and density.
- Critique images for quality and decide when a repeat is necessary.
- Prioritize your daily workflow based on patient needs.
- Collaborate with your team to meet patient care goals.
- Participate in staff meetings and communicate openly with co-workers.
- Use performance data to identify ways to improve care.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in the second year of an accredited Radiography Program.
- Completion of at least two semesters in an accredited Radiography Program.
- An Associates Degree is preferred.
- The ability to stand for long periods and lift or move up to 100 lbs.

- Pay: $21.03 per hour.
- Schedule: PRN (as needed), varies.
