About the role#
The Adult Workforce Development Healthcare Internship is an educational and training-based role. You will learn the responsibilities of entry-level healthcare positions, with the potential to specialize in areas such as Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technician, Transporter, Registration, Greeter, Patient Safety Companion, Dietary Aide, or Environmental Services.
What you'll do#
- Attend all required training sessions and arrive on time for classes, shifts, or shadowing.
- Participate fully in training experiences with a positive attitude.
- Engage in the training plan and carry out tasks as learned.
- Deliver safe, direct care to assigned patients under the supervision of a preceptor.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
- Support the mission and goals of Nuvance Health.
- Communicate clearly and listen to co-workers, patients, and families to meet their needs.
- Protect the rights of co-workers and patients, including medical privacy and confidentiality.
- Respect the diversity of others by honoring their perspectives and differences.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and write in English.
