About the role#
As a Mental Health Therapist Intern, you will work under a board-approved supervisor to provide clinical and consultative services. You will focus on the prevention, assessment, evaluation, and treatment of mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
What you'll do#
- Provide counseling and case management services for patients using evidence-based practices.
- Perform crisis interventions as needed.
- Coordinate with referring providers, other professionals, and family members to engage patients in their care.
- Act as a liaison between the clinical team, clinical leadership, and other involved professionals.
- Consult on patient care to ensure continuity, convey assessment findings, and implement therapeutic plans.
- Prepare reports and documentation in accordance with clinical practice and institutional standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Psychology, Nursing, or Public Health.
- Clinical experience and knowledge regarding mental health issues.
- Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic assessments.
- Ability to establish and maintain trust and rapport with patients.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
