About the role#
The Associate Director, Student Experience manages daily operations for the Specialized Master's Programs. This role oversees event logistics, system administration, and team communications. You will provide direct support to students through career coaching and academic advising while building relationships with employers and alumni. This position requires a balance of operational oversight and student-facing engagement in a matrixed environment.
What you'll do#
- Manage day-to-day operations for program events, including vendor selection, contracting, and logistics.
- Coach students 1:1 on career, academic, and student life topics.
- Maintain the program master calendar and manage the team's shared inbox and appointment scheduling.
- Oversee the student-facing communications ecosystem, including newsletters, website updates, and career platforms.
- Analyze market trends and early career job search data to inform programming and coaching.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers and alumni to support recruiting events and job postings.
- Conduct workshops, lectures, and training programs.
- Collaborate with staff to determine program offerings and support student life initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of related work experience.
- Background in program management, operations, or student support.
- Experience in higher education, including coaching, employer relations, or recruiting coordination.
- Proficiency with student information systems such as 12Twenty, Canvas, Campus Groups, Slate, or Workday.
- Experience managing budgets, expense reconciliation, and vendor relationships.
- Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Capacity to work effectively and diplomatically within a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in person.
- Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Requires flexibility for occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Employment: This role is not eligible for employer-sponsored employment authorization.
