About the role#
The Student Programs Manager provides administrative, logistical, and program management support for the Student Affairs and Programs unit at the Pritzker School of Medicine. This student-facing role focuses on planning and executing initiatives that support the medical education experience. You will work closely with the Dean of Students, faculty, and the Student Programs team to ensure smooth operations and effective service delivery.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate student events including Orientation, the White Coat Ceremony, Honor Society Inductions, and graduation activities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the medical school and students, faculty, staff, and families.
- Provide administrative support to the Dean of Students, Associate Dean of Students, and the Executive Director of Student Affairs.
- Manage financial tasks such as student reimbursements, vendor payments, and ordering.
- Maintain and update the Pritzker website, calendars, listservs, and organizational archives.
- Support the Pritzker Wellness Initiative and student-run free clinics.
- Market student activities and develop new programming to encourage community involvement.
- Create and implement protocols to evaluate the effectiveness of student programs.
What you'll need#
- A college or university degree in a related field.
- Two to five years of work experience in a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on student-centered service.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professional judgment.
- Experience in an academic or medical center environment is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and follow issues through to resolution.
- Strong project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- A Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration is strongly preferred.
