About the role#
The Recreational Therapy department at The WELL provides inclusive recreation and leisure opportunities for the campus community. We are looking for two Student Assistants to join our team. This role supports our mission to provide accessible services and foster an active lifestyle for all participants.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate, set up, break down, and monitor inclusive programs.
- Document and report information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Assist the Recreational Therapy Student Supervisor and the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with volunteer recruitment and training.
- Respond to injuries and emergencies, including activating the emergency action plan when necessary.
- Attend all required trainings and meetings.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
- Strong public speaking, time management, and customer service skills.
- Current enrollment at Sacramento State with a minimum of nine units for undergraduate students or six units for graduate students.
- Majors in Kinesiology or Public Health are preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Sacramento, California.
- This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited student position.
- Compensation is $17.15 per hour.
- Work shifts are available Monday through Saturday.
- Employees generally work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
