About the role#
The Executive Office is hiring a student assistant to support policy research and technical development related to artificial intelligence. This role combines policy analysis with hands-on tool building, offering exposure to strategic decision-making and innovation across Executive Office initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Research and analyze emerging artificial intelligence technologies, trends, risks, and best practices.
- Develop, test, and refine AI-powered tools, workflows, prompts, and prototypes.
- Evaluate complex information to prepare clear, concise recommendations for executive-level decision-making.
- Communicate technical AI concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Manage multiple assignments and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2.0 GPA or above.
- Enrollment in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to think critically, perform thorough research, and communicate results effectively.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position based in California.
- Work schedule is flexible, Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM.
- Students may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
- Compensation ranges from $20.08 to $35.70 per hour.
