About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a student assistant to support the Reconciliation and Financial Reporting Unit at the California Department of Motor Vehicles. This role offers hands-on experience with government accounting, financial systems, and reporting processes.
What you'll do#
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts and various funds.
- Prepare monthly revenue and year-end financial reports.
- Research discrepancies and assist with cashier-related duties.
- Verify the accuracy of automated reports.
- Perform other administrative duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in at least four-semester units or six quarter units.
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.
- Basic familiarity with spreadsheets.
- Accounting experience is preferred.
- Submission of academic transcripts is required.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site at the DMV headquarters in Sacramento, California.
- Work hours are up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
- You must reside in California and perform all work within the state.
- This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited role.
