About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Student Assistant to support the Customer Generation team at the Public Utilities Commission. This position offers a chance to learn about agency operations while assisting with data analysis, policy development, and project support. This is a part-time, temporary role.
What you'll do#
- Provide procedural and analytical support to the Customer Generation team.
- Conduct technical reviews and independent analysis of proceeding materials.
- Research policies, technologies, and industry trends related to customer generation.
- Analyze distributed energy resource issues that impact tribal, environmental justice, priority, and low-income communities.
- Create and present original findings to assist with team projects, regulatory proceedings, and policy development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student during the regular term.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in at least four-semester units or six quarter units.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Working knowledge of office equipment.
- Prior experience in public policy or energy policy is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- This role is based in San Francisco, California. You must reside and perform all work within the state of California.
- The work environment is hybrid, involving both remote and office work. Participation is subject to the current remote workplace policy.
- Work hours are flexible between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Students generally work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
- Compensation ranges from $20.25 to $27.25 per hour.
