About the role#
The Legal and Compliance Summer Internship at United Wholesale Mortgage offers a 12-week immersive experience. You will work alongside our legal and compliance teams to gain practical exposure to regulatory matters and industry research. This program includes job shadowing, access to senior leadership, and networking opportunities with a large cohort of fellow interns.
What you'll do#
- Research regulatory topics that impact our operations.
- Help review and draft compliance documents, policies, and procedures.
- Assist the legal team in preparing for internal meetings and compliance audits.
- Maintain and organize legal documentation and databases.
- Monitor and analyze changes in mortgage industry laws and regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to compliance strategy discussions.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the legal and compliance teams.
What you'll need#
- Current junior or senior status, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 2027 or 2028.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
