About the role#
As a Legal Operations Intern, you will help improve the systems, processes, and data that support our legal work. You will partner with the Legal Operations team to enhance the accuracy and consistency of our matter management. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of your work and gain exposure to corporate legal functions, including matter intake, outside counsel management, and investor reporting.
What you'll do#
- Use AI tools, including Claude, to identify data inconsistencies, standardize matter records, and reduce manual entry in our e-billing system.
- Organize and maintain matters, engagements, and spend data to support reliable reporting.
- Standardize and map data across different templates and formats, including information from outside law firms.
- Support time-sensitive projects like the annual law firm timekeeper rate review through data analysis and stakeholder coordination.
- Identify ways to streamline workflows and document processes.
- Gain experience with how Legal Operations supports legal intake, spend reporting, and partnerships with legal vendors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in legal studies, business, information systems, data analytics, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
- Analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with attorneys and business partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Experience using AI tools to analyze, clean, or organize data.
- Coursework or experience in data analysis, business operations, or process improvement.
- Familiarity with matter management or legal technology tools.
- Interest in legal operations, corporate legal work, and technology-driven process improvements.
- Interest in financial services, real estate, or technology.
