About the role#
The HR Talent Intern supports the Human Resources Talent team with day-to-day operations and special projects. You will focus on the sustainability of the UNCF People & Culture Newsletter, helping to build a framework for content development, distribution, and engagement. This position offers hands-on experience in HR communications and organizational engagement within a mission-driven nonprofit.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the content development and ongoing sustainability of the UNCF HR Newsletter.
- Assist with creating and maintaining a framework for newsletter timelines and distribution.
- Support the development of a communications plan for the organization-wide rollout of the HR Newsletter.
- Collaborate with HR Talent and Organizational Development teams to align communications with learning initiatives.
- Assist with LMS projects, including content development, editing, and organization of learning materials.
- Draft, edit, and proofread content to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance engagement through visual and multimedia content.
- Participate in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project reviews with cross-functional teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university program (Instructional Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Communications, Education, or a related field).
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Demonstrated experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Cap Cut, or Final Cut Pro.
- Proficiency with graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, or InDesign.
- Ability to script concise content for videos and digital learning modules.
- A portfolio showcasing your video editing and graphic design skills.
- Experience with e-learning authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Rise 360 is helpful.
Location & details#
- This internship is located in Washington, DC.
- You must be available to work on-site Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- The role requires availability for occasional evening and weekend events.
- This is a paid internship for the Fall 2026 term, ending December 18, 2026.
