About the role#
This position supports the CIRRUS platform team within the Computational and Information Systems Laboratory. You will help deploy, operate, and maintain CIRRUS, a cloud-native, Kubernetes-based scientific computing platform. You will work alongside senior staff to verify platform workflows and ensure documentation is clear and accurate for scientific users. This is a term-based, full-time role for Fall 2026.
What you'll do#
- Test and verify platform workflows, new functionality, and documentation before release.
- Develop and maintain reusable workflows to validate new workloads onboarded to the platform.
- Document workflows so other team members and users can reuse them effectively.
- Author, edit, and improve user-facing guides and onboarding materials.
- Work with a moderate degree of independence while receiving supervision from senior staff.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited school, college, university, or trade school.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes and container-based workloads.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, specifically for technical writing.
- Ability to convey technical concepts to engineers and platform users.
- Capacity to follow and execute moderately complex procedures.
- Preferred majors include Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Engineering.
