About the role#
As a Construction Intern, you will work on-site to build foundational knowledge in construction management. You will assist with daily project activities, including safety protocols, subcontractor relations, and quality control. This role supports your academic learning and provides experience in the construction lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with document control, file management, and material tracking.
- Assist with project start-up activities and close-out preparations.
- Process shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Prepare estimates for subcontractor changes and quantity take-offs.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs and wear required PPE.
- Attend site visits to document field activities.
- Communicate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Participate in meetings, training, and orientation sessions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program, such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- At least one year of completed education or equivalent experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical information.
- Proactive attitude and a desire to learn about the construction industry.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to standard business hours and potential overtime.
