About the role#
TRUMPF is seeking a Manufacturing Intern for the Sheetmetal Fabrication Department at our Farmington, Connecticut location. This position offers practical experience that complements classroom learning. The internship runs from January 2026 to August 2026, requiring at least 32 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the development and implementation of Sheet Metal Department projects.
- Create current state analyses to define baselines and apply systematic problem-solving approaches.
- Introduce new parts to automated Laser Weld and Arc Weld processes, including fixture design, setup, and documentation.
- Develop and standardize quality and safety procedures.
- Support area supervisors with daily tasks and project work to reach departmental goals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Visual Basic programming and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with 3D-modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Clear verbal and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
