About the role#
This research position focuses on Targeted Alpha-particle Therapy (TAT). You will contribute to the development of methods for detecting alpha emissions directly from cancer cells incubated with TAT vectors. The goal is to establish quantitative, reproducible procedures and a cell reference model to study uptake and retention efficiencies.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development of sample preparation procedures for direct alpha spectroscopy on cancer cells.
- Help design and develop detector systems.
- Apply analytical procedures to test samples.
- Assist with the creation of reference models for direct alpha spectroscopy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student in Chemistry or Physics.
- Interest in interdisciplinary analytical methods and radiometric detectors.
- Experience in nuclear science, radiochemistry, preparative chemistry, or analytical chemistry.
- Ability to successfully complete the in-house radiation safety training course.
- Ability to be designated as a TRIUMF Nuclear Energy Worker.
