About the role#
Triple Ring Technologies is seeking a Lab Operations and Safety Intern for the summer of 2026. This role focuses on making medical technology labs safer, smarter, and better documented. You will work within the IT and Incubation team alongside Lab Operations and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) leads to refine policies, safety data, and operational practices. This is a hands-on position that provides a cross-functional view of how a multidisciplinary research and development company operates.
What you'll do#
- Draft and propose revisions to LabOps policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Help review and maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library and Chemical Hygiene Plan documentation.
- Research and recommend lab best practices by benchmarking against industry and regulatory standards.
- Review how documentation maps to day-to-day practice and recommend ways to keep them aligned.
- Synthesize findings into clear, prioritized recommendations for the team.
- Use company-approved AI tools to assist in research and drafting, ensuring all safety-related outputs are verified by a qualified team member.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in chemistry, biology, biomedical or chemical engineering, environmental health and safety, lab science, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Strong writing and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
- A safety-first mindset and curiosity about laboratory operations.
- Comfort using AI tools, paired with the judgment to verify all outputs.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks independently.
- Ability to work in and around active lab spaces while wearing required personal protective equipment.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2026 (12 weeks, July to August/September).
- Modality: On-site, with a requirement to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
- Employment type: Full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.
