Pharmacy Intern, Per Diem - Samaritan Hospital

About the role#

This is a per diem Pharmacy Intern position at Samaritan Hospital. The role involves working rotating shifts to support pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. You will work within standard operating procedures, requiring mental and visual attention, accuracy, and the ability to manage frequent deadlines and interruptions.

What you'll do#

• Perform technical aspects of medication preparation and distribution.
• Conduct record keeping and inventory control.
• Engage in direct patient interaction and provide patient counseling.
• Perform medication reconciliation.
• Ensure all tasks meet accuracy standards through sequential or final verification by a pharmacist.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy College, having completed at least the fourth year.
• An active New York State Intern Permit.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and stand for long periods of time.
• Previous work experience in a registered pharmacy is preferred.
