About the role#
This is a per diem Pharmacy Intern position at Samaritan Hospital. The role involves working rotating shifts to support pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. You will work within standard operating procedures, requiring mental and visual attention, accuracy, and the ability to manage frequent deadlines and interruptions.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical aspects of medication preparation and distribution.
- Conduct record keeping and inventory control.
- Engage in direct patient interaction and provide patient counseling.
- Perform medication reconciliation.
- Ensure all tasks meet accuracy standards through sequential or final verification by a pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy College, having completed at least the fourth year.
- An active New York State Intern Permit.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stand for long periods of time.
- Previous work experience in a registered pharmacy is preferred.
