About the role#
The Imaging Services Extern supports the imaging team by assisting with patient care and department operations. You will work alongside a Registered Imaging Services Technologist to help produce quality images. This is a part-time, per diem role with a maximum duration of 18 months.
What you'll do#
- Screen patients for safety, verify their identity, and confirm clinical history before exams.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures using established techniques and protocols.
- Complete patient documentation and ensure records are finalized.
- Review schedules to spot potential issues or incorrect orders.
- Maintain department supply levels and report needs to staff.
- Participate in student education and attend required job trainings.
- Identify and help resolve safety, sanitation, or maintenance problems in the work area.
What you'll need#
- Completion of the first year of a two-year accredited program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least three months of prior experience in a healthcare setting.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Muskegon, Michigan.
- The role is on-site and part-time with a rotating shift schedule.
