CT Tech Student

About the role#

The CT Tech Student role is a full-time, on-site position at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario, Oregon. This role involves cross-training in CT procedures and may require travel between the Ontario and Nampa locations.

What you'll do#

• Perform procedures on patients of all ages, adhering to approved protocols, radiation safety standards, and established exam indicators.
• Schedule appointments and obtain medical histories from patients.
• Evaluate the appropriateness of requested exams to assist radiologists.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment, instruments, and supplies necessary for high-quality examinations.
• Provide clear and effective communication to patients, tailored to their age and mental capacity.

What you'll need#

• Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Active Medical Imaging License issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI).
• Active CT temporary 6-month Medical Imaging License issued by the OBMI, which must be obtained before and maintained during CT cross-training.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network (unless currently certified in ACLS or PALS).
• Previous hospital-based Radiologic Technologist experience is preferred.
• Completion of training within 12 months, as the temporary license is only renewable once by the state of Oregon.
