About the role#
The Business Insurance Underwriting Professional Development Program (BI UPDP) Internship is a 10-week summer program designed for students interested in a career in insurance. You will work with industry professionals to evaluate risk and determine pricing for insurance products. This role serves as a potential pathway into the full-time Underwriting Professional Development Program.
What you'll do#
- Complete core training modules focused on insurance and underwriting principles.
- Work on challenging projects, either independently or with other interns, and present your findings to local leadership.
- Build skills in time management and professional presentations through self-paced courses.
- Learn to use analytical and artificial intelligence tools while applying critical thinking to assess the accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- Gain exposure to other departments like Risk Control and Claims, and join Account Executives on agency visits.
- Take part in the Enterprise Internship experience, including networking events and the Rising Senior Intern Symposium.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing or have already obtained a Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Risk Management and Insurance, or Liberal Arts with a business focus.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship located in Franklin, Tennessee.
- The program runs for 10 weeks, from early June to mid-August 2027.
- This position is paid.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
