About the role#
The Systems Engineer Intern joins the Controls and Software team to support new product development. You will work on projects involving HVAC embedded controllers, user interfaces, and digital tools. This role involves collaborating with engineering disciplines, product management, and operations to define system designs and architectures.
What you'll do#
- Work with technical leadership on new product development projects.
- Participate in the full product development life cycle, from requirements analysis to final testing.
- Establish system architecture and break down designs into specific requirements.
- Evaluate trade-offs between different solution approaches.
- Perform system analysis and define interfaces.
- Plan and execute system and performance tests.
- Lead design reviews and technical project reviews.
- Investigate and resolve product failures.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of hardware and software design principles is preferred.
- Experience with HVAC controls and systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with communication protocols like BACnet or Modbus is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is based in St Paul, Minnesota.
- The role is full-time and paid with an hourly rate between $24.30 and $33.48.
- Work is on-site Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
