About the role#
This paid, part-time internship offers an inside look at the film distribution industry. You will support the GKIDS distribution department by managing licensing, exhibition logistics, and theater bookings across the country. This role provides insight into how film programmers operate and how operational systems support the release of globally inspired cinema.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage a high volume of booking records in Airtable.
- Review and maintain various spreadsheets for accuracy.
- Coordinate the timely fulfillment of film materials, such as DCPs and Blu-rays, to exhibitors.
- Manage the shipment of in-theater promotional items like posters and postcards.
- Update and maintain the bookings calendar.
- Pull and compile pre-sale ticketing reports.
- Assist with sales materials including email newsletters and pitch decks.
- Maintain operational systems and analyze performance metrics.
- Stay informed on new releases, industry news, and market trends.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Airtable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Interest in data analysis.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
- Knowledge of the GKIDS film catalog is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Modality: Hybrid (candidates must be able to commute to the office at least once a week).
- Term: Summer 2026 through January 2027.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid position at $20 per hour. Internships for school credit are also available.
