About the role#
As a Research Intern on the Model Shaping team, you will help tailor open foundation models for specific applications. You will work on advanced post-training methods, including supervised learning and reinforcement learning. You will also build new systems for efficient neural network training and develop methods for evaluating model capabilities.
What you'll do#
- Research and implement new techniques in our focus areas.
- Design and conduct experiments to test your hypotheses.
- Document your findings for scientific publications and blog posts.
- Integrate your research results directly into Together products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.
- Familiarity with the Transformer architecture and recent foundation model developments.
- Preferred: Prior research experience in training foundation models or efficient machine learning.
- Preferred: Publications at conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, or EMNLP.
- Preferred: Knowledge of model optimization, hardware acceleration, or open-source contributions.
