About the role#
The Agents team builds, aligns, and scales AI systems designed for complex, multi-step tasks across text and speech. Our work focuses on agentic and scientific domains, sitting at the intersection of agent capabilities, human-computer interaction, and infrastructure. As a research intern, you will address challenges in alignment, reliability, and scalability. You may work on training recipes for self-learning, dataset curation for scientific tasks, or infrastructure to support agent operations at scale.
What you'll do#
- Research and implement novel techniques in our focus areas.
- Design and conduct experiments to validate your hypotheses.
- Document your findings in scientific publications and blog posts.
- Communicate your project plans, progress, and results to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program for Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Science, or a related field.
- Publications at major machine learning, NLP, or speech conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, or Interspeech.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.
- Familiarity with Transformer architectures and recent developments in foundation models.
- Understanding of how LLMs work.
- Strong programming skills in Python.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in San Francisco, California.
- The term is Summer 2027.
