About the role#
As a Vision-Language-Action (VLA) Research Intern, you will join our team to work on projects at the forefront of the autonomous driving industry. You will focus on the intersection of generative modeling, world models, and scalable autonomy. This role involves close collaboration with other researchers to produce high-quality work that may lead to top-venue publications or direct product impact.
What you'll do#
- Design and train world-action models, including autoregressive or diffusion-based architectures, to predict future sensor observations or latent states based on ego actions.
- Integrate these world models with planning systems to develop end-to-end or model-based driving policies.
- Summarize your research findings through high-quality paper or patent submissions.
- Collaborate with team members to advance our research goals.
What you'll need#
- You must be a currently enrolled Ph.D. student in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
- Hands-on experience with generative models like diffusion, autoregressive transformers, or VAEs, as well as world models, video prediction, or end-to-end autonomous driving.
- Solid fine-tuning skills and proficiency with deep learning frameworks.
- Experience with reinforcement learning or model-based planning.
- Preferred qualifications include a publication record in venues such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, NeurIPS, or ICML.
- Familiarity with driving benchmarks like NavSim and Bench2Drive is a plus.
- Experience with large-scale distributed training and multi-modal or video data pipelines is preferred.
- Strong research, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time internship based in Sunnyvale, California.
- The position is paid, and the term is rolling.
- We do not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
