    About the role#

    We are looking for an undergraduate student to join our aviation team for the summer of 2027. You will work in Bloomington, Minnesota, alongside civil engineers, planners, and technicians. This role covers the project life cycle from initial conception through final construction. You will participate in projects for general aviation airports, international hubs, and military bases, including work on runways, taxiways, utilities, and security infrastructure.

    What you'll do#

    • Create detailed drawings using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
    • Perform calculations for project dimensions, elevations, and quantities.
    • Assist with preliminary site assessments.
    • Conduct construction administration tasks, such as site inspections and observations.
    • Engage with team members to prepare technical reports and specifications.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for civil engineering with a transportation emphasis.
    • Experience or training in AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work outdoors on active construction sites and lift up to 40 pounds.
    • A valid driver license with a clean driving record.
    • Ability to travel for site visits and construction administration.
    • A general understanding of drafting techniques and construction plan development is preferred.
    • Prior coursework or experience in airport planning and design is a plus.

    • Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
    • Term: Summer 2027, from May 25 through August 13.
    • Commitment: Full time, 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.
    • Work Modality: Primarily on-site with potential for hybrid arrangements.
