About the role#
This internship is a 10-week summer program based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is a full-time, on-site position. You will support the Third-Party supplier category team to drive program value, improve supplier relationships, and meet revenue and margin goals. This role serves as a pipeline for future leadership opportunities within the company.
What you'll do#
- Negotiate pricing and rebates to improve margins and sales.
- Research suppliers and competitor products to inform business decisions.
- Organize and analyze supplier data for business reviews.
- Present our value proposition to external suppliers.
- Compile and distribute quarterly Supplier Scorecards.
- Collaborate with suppliers on the use of the Supplier Portal.
- Submit product substitutions and cross-references.
- Resolve supplier issues and act as a liaison between the Category Manager and internal purchasing teams.
- Work with internal groups including Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Regulatory.
- Assist the Encompass Customer Team with specific requests.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- A background in Chemistry or Biology is a plus.
- At least 1 year of previous internship or work experience.
- Proven leadership in organizations, athletics, or volunteer roles.
- Ability to solve complex problems and navigate changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence.
- Geographic mobility and flexibility for future career opportunities.
- A reliable mode of transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
