About the role#
The Washington Post is hiring college juniors, seniors, and graduate students for its flagship summer internship program. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. Interns work alongside award-winning journalists and are treated as staff members throughout the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Report and write articles.
- Edit copy and take photographs.
- Shoot and edit video.
- Create graphics and produce audio.
- Develop audience strategy and conduct data analyses.
- Focus on reaching and engaging audiences on and off platform.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college junior, senior, or graduate student in a degree program, such as Journalism, Communications, English, or Media Studies.
- A commitment to accuracy, clarity, and journalistic rigor.
- The ability to work in fast-moving environments and on deadline.
- A portfolio of relevant work samples.
- An autobiographical essay of no more than 500 words.
