About the role#
KABC-TV (ABC7) is looking for a digital news intern to join our team in Glendale, California. As an ABC owned station in the second largest television market, we produce over sixty-three hours of local news and programming each week. This internship provides an educational experience that supports your academic studies while you contribute to the daily operations of our newsroom.
What you'll do#
- Write and post digital news articles using wire reports, raw information, and TV news scripts.
- Clip video segments from our television newscasts.
- Monitor user messages across social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and X.
- Create social assets, such as graphics and vertical videos.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, with preference given to Junior or Senior students.
- Majors in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or related fields.
- Knowledge of AP Style and experience using social media to post content.
- Previous coursework in producing, writing, or editing.
- Ability to multitask with high attention to detail.
- You must be at least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted work authorization.
- You must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Glendale, California.
- The internship runs from January 2027 through early June 2027.
- This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with potential for night or early morning shifts.
- You must provide your own housing and reliable transportation.
- This position is paid at $18.47 per hour.
