About the role#
The CFA Tax Intern role within the Corporate Finance and Accounting division offers students a chance to experience the life of a tax accountant. You will work in a remote environment with a manager assigned to oversee your day to day tasks, while also having opportunities to collaborate with different teams across the division. This role is designed to build skills for a career in taxation.
What you'll do#
- Support the preparation of quarterly and year-end income tax provision calculations.
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns, tax adjustment workpapers, and quarterly tax-related filings and analyses.
- Perform tax account reconciliations, process tax-related payments, and prepare journal entries.
- Assist with the preparation of indirect tax filings and workpapers, including premium tax, sales and use tax, and property tax.
- Support tax withholding and compliance activities, including interactions with taxing authorities.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and gain exposure to tax leadership.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student pursuing a degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Status as a rising sophomore, junior, senior, or student pursuing advanced degrees.
- Availability to extend the summer internship in a part-time capacity from late August or early September through October 15.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience with the MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with AI tools is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is fully remote.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Interns receive three days of paid time off plus paid holidays.
