About the role#
The Minnesota Star Tribune is offering a 10-week summer visual producer internship at our headquarters in Minneapolis. This is a full-time, paid position for college juniors, seniors, or graduate students. You will gain experience in a major-market newsroom, focusing on daily photo editing and department production assistance.
What you'll do#
- Produce daily news, sports, and features galleries.
- Coordinate assignments and long-term projects alongside picture editors and photographers.
- Generate story ideas for the photo and video staff.
- Promote content across all social media platforms.
- Conduct all tasks in a professional manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Some experience with still photography or video editing.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively.
- A developing visual sense for still images and video.
- Familiarity with social media for newsgathering and distribution.
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Photo Mechanic.
- Knowledge of audio production, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and audio editing software is preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Term: Summer 2027 (early June to early August).
- Modality: On-site and hybrid work arrangements.
- Compensation: $21.25 per hour.
