About the role#
This is a 10-week, full-time paid internship for the summer of 2027. You will work from our headquarters in Minneapolis to gain experience in a major-market newsroom. We look for college juniors, seniors, or graduate students in journalism or communications who are ready to produce substantive news content.
What you'll do#
- Develop your own story ideas.
- Cover breaking news and write enterprise stories.
- Run hard at assignments provided by editors.
- Collaborate with photographers, reporters, and editors to produce news.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency with web research, social media tools, and publishing software like InCopy.
- Experience with data analysis and building digital visualizations.
- Flexibility and the ability to work under deadline pressure.
- A valid driver's license.

- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21.25 per hour ($850 per week).
