About the role#
The PhD Data Science Internship offers an opportunity to develop advanced skills while supporting strategic business objectives. You will work on projects aligned with areas such as e-commerce, merchandising, operations, or finance. This role focuses on translating business questions into actionable insights and delivering high quality analytical solutions.
What you'll do#
- Perform data analytics using strategic thinking to solve business problems.
- Participate in meetings across the enterprise data science community.
- Build networking relationships and receive mentoring from team members and management.
- Communicate project status and findings clearly through professional presentations.
- Provide recommendations and comprehensive report-outs to upper management.
- Utilize database applications and tools including Python, SQL, and Google BigQuery.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science or Finance.
- Experience with a modern scripting language, preferably Python.
- Experience running queries against data, preferably with SQL or Google BigQuery.
- Experience with data visualization software, preferably Tableau.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and presentation software.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site at the Store Support Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
- You will be expected to work in the office Monday through Friday.
