About the role#
This 11-week summer internship program provides exposure to the actuarial community at The Hartford. You will work on assignments across Property and Casualty businesses and Employee Benefits departments. The program begins in late May 2027 and is designed to prepare you for a career in the field.
What you'll do#
- Complete projects related to personal and commercial insurance pricing, corporate reserving, data science, enterprise risk management, and employee benefits.
- Meet performance objectives throughout your assignments.
- Attend training sessions covering R coding, insurance terminology, and internal technologies.
- Participate in team building and social events with the actuarial community.
- Contribute to the company culture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelors or masters degree program in actuarial science, math, economics, finance, or a related science field.
- Completion of at least one actuarial exam.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- A driven and well-rounded approach to your work.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Hartford, Connecticut.
- You must be physically present in Hartford for the duration of the program.
- The company provides funding toward travel and housing for the summer term.
