About the role#
The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a law student for a full-time, paid internship within our Office of General Counsel. This 10-week summer program offers practical experience in a corporate legal environment. You will work alongside in-house counsel and gain exposure to legal issues that affect our business operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete meaningful legal assignments under the guidance of experienced attorneys.
- Conduct legal research and draft documents on various topics.
- Observe and participate in meetings with attorneys and cross-functional teams.
- Gain insight into insurance regulatory frameworks, contracts, and corporate governance.
- Assist the team with tasks and share ideas as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited law program with at least 1 year of full-time law school completed.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Interest in insurance law, regulatory compliance, contract law, or corporate legal practice.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- This internship is based in Worcester, Massachusetts.
- The role is hybrid, requiring you to be in the office 2-3 days per week.
- This is a full-time, 10-week program scheduled for Summer 2027.
