About the role#
This summer internship focuses on aviation construction projects at the Eastern Iowa Airport. You will work on-site to help maintain and improve critical infrastructure. You will receive mentorship from licensed engineers while gaining direct experience with active construction sites.
What you'll do#
- Observe construction activities for aviation projects.
- Help with measurements, documentation, and quantity reporting.
- Review project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors and clients.
- Escort and monitor contractors within secure airfield areas.
- Support routine civil engineering tasks under the guidance of a licensed engineer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited school.
- Ability to pass a background check for airport security clearance.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- The role is on-site for the Summer 2027 term.
