About the role#
We are looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our coastal infrastructure team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects involving waterfront engineering, dredging, and construction management. This role offers hands-on experience in protecting coastlines and supporting navigation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate on project deliverables for dredging, environmental permitting, and coastal engineering.
- Conduct topographic and hydrographic surveys, as well as 3D drone scans, with certified team members.
- Assist with structural inspections and construction oversight.
- Support design tasks using AutoCAD.
- Prepare permit documents for local, state, and federal agencies.
- Help with data management and report preparation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a similar field at an ABET-accredited institution.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Practical experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based on-site in Newport, Rhode Island, or Marion, Massachusetts.
