About the role#
The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring for an Arborist Trainee Internship in Youngstown, Ohio. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
You will work as part of a tree crew to learn the trade and develop new skills. Your daily work involves:
- Trimming and removing trees.
- Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood from the tree canopy.
- Removing unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs.
- Assisting with the removal of hazardous trees.
- Installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Identifying different tree species.
- Maintaining, preparing, and operating equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
What you'll need#
- A love for the outdoors.
- A background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or experience working at heights is preferred.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
- Relevant pesticide or related licenses and certificates if required by state law.

This position is located in Youngstown, Ohio. The role is full-time and requires up to 25% travel.
