About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship where you will work on-site as a member of a tree crew. You will gain hands-on experience in tree care and maintenance while working outdoors. This role offers an opportunity to learn professional climbing techniques and industry-standard safety practices.
What you'll do#
- Learn to climb trees and work safely within the canopy.
- Perform tree pruning, thinning, and removal of deadwood.
- Assist with the removal of hazardous trees.
- Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Operate and maintain equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Develop skills in tree identification and follow industry pruning guidelines.
What you'll need#
- A genuine love for the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the company Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
- A background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
- Relevant pesticide licenses or certificates are preferred if required by state law.
