About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Burr Ridge, Illinois. You will work on-site as a member of a tree crew, learning to perform tree care services while gaining hands-on experience in the field.
What you'll do#
- Learn to climb trees and work as part of a tree crew.
- Perform tree pruning and removal services according to industry guidelines.
- Identify tree species and remove deadwood from the canopy.
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Assist with the removal of hazardous trees.
- Maintain and operate equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
What you'll need#
- A love for the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
- A background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
- Relevant pesticide or related licenses are preferred if required by state law.
