About the role#
The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring an Arborist Trainee Intern for Summer 2027 in Englewood, Colorado. This is a temporary, full-time position for college students looking to gain field experience in tree care. You will work on-site as part of a crew and receive pay for your time.
What you'll do#
- Learn to climb trees and work safely within the canopy.
- Prune, thin, and remove deadwood from trees.
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Assist in the removal of hazardous trees.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Learn tree identification and industry pruning guidelines.
What you'll need#
- A love for the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete company-provided First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses.
- Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
- Relevant pesticide or related licenses are preferred.
