About the role#
The City of Kenora is hiring a Student Program Attendant for the summer of 2026. You will join the Recreation Team to help prepare and deliver public programs, workshops, and special events. This role focuses on supporting visitor experiences and executing various recreational activities.
What you'll do#
- Plan and deliver recreational experiences for participants.
- Develop daily activity plans for children, youth, or young adults.
- Work with your team to create an inclusive environment for everyone.
- Monitor participants, volunteers, and equipment or facilities.
- Manage conflicts and address unsafe or unacceptable behavior.
- Maintain the cleanliness of program areas and enforce safety rules.
What you'll need#
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada and enrolled in full-time secondary studies.
- You need an Emergency First Aid or higher certificate and a CPR Level C or equivalent.
- You should be able to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary for working with the public.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- A passion for or knowledge of sports is an asset.
- Experience in recreational programming, leadership, or supervision is helpful.
- You must be available to complete mandatory safety training and orientation.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in Kenora, Ontario.
- The role involves rotating shifts including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
- You must be able to work at least one shift per week.
- The pay rate is $16.60 per hour.
