About the role#
The Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco Division is hiring a Junior Policy Analyst for a two-year internship. You will work under the direction of the Manager of Policy to support the division's regulatory modernization agenda. This role offers hands-on experience in government policy development and implementation while working within a team of policy professionals.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and data analysis to support various initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing policy and regulatory projects.
- Prepare reports, jurisdictional scans, and briefing notes.
- Assist in the preparation of submissions for Executive Council.
- Draft correspondence for the public and various stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Recent graduation from a college diploma or university bachelor's degree program within the last 3 years in a related field such as Political Science, Public Health, Business Administration, Economics, Communications, Sociology, or Human Resources.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct policy research and analyze data.
- Experience using both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and support project coordination.
