About the role#
This is a one-year internship position with the Accessibility Directorate. You will report to the Manager of Compliance and Capacity Building to support the administration, coordination, and evaluation of accessibility awareness and education programs. This role helps organizations meet their obligations under the Accessibility Act.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of accessibility awareness and education programs including workshops, webinars, and website updates.
- Support the planning and delivery of capacity building initiatives related to accessibility standards.
- Liaise with partners across government, the public and private sectors, and community organizations.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform program and policy development.
- Assist in the development of internal and external communications.
What you'll need#
- Completion of a post-secondary program in a related field within the past 3 years.
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs such as workshops or toolkits.
- Project management experience including planning, tracking, and managing multiple activities.
- Experience conducting research and synthesizing information.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight timelines.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft software suite.
- Knowledge of accessibility and disability issues is an asset.
- Experience with Zoom and Drupal is considered an asset.
- Fluency in French or experience in provincial government is considered an asset.
