About the role#
This is an unpaid, school-based internship for students pursuing a master's degree in social work. You will provide psychotherapy services, including mental health assessments, individual and family psychotherapy, and therapeutic behavioral support. You will work in schools, homes, and community settings, with telehealth options available when clinically indicated.
What you'll do#
- Shadow mental health assessments and complete them once your field instructor determines you are prepared.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Manage a client caseload, providing psychotherapy and therapeutic behavioral support.
- Integrate behavioral health with client health needs and provide referrals for medical, dental, or psychiatric services.
- Attend and participate in weekly supervision sessions.
- Complete agency documentation in accordance with ODMH and best practice standards.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
- Active enrollment in a master's degree program in social work.
- Ability to obtain and maintain SWT status while working with clients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members.
