About the role#
The Centers is seeking a Counseling Intern to join our Health and Wellness department. This role provides hands-on experience in a clinical setting, focusing on psychotherapy and client support. You will work under supervision to provide care and contribute to our multi-disciplinary team.
What you'll do#
- Shadow experienced staff and provide psychotherapy services.
- Conduct mental health assessments using DSM-5 or ICD-10 criteria.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Manage a client caseload in accordance with your educational requirements.
- Attend weekly supervision sessions and participate in team meetings.
- Complete agency documentation following state standards and best practices.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, art therapy, or a related field.
- Active enrollment in a master's degree program for social work, counseling, art therapy, or marriage and family therapy.
- Completed coursework in diagnosis, theories, and group process.
- Current CT or SWT status to work with clients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position located in Cleveland, Ohio.
- The internship term is on a rolling basis.
