About the role#
The Centers is seeking a Counseling Intern to join the Health and Wellness department in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling start date. You will gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while working toward your master's degree.
What you'll do#
- Shadow experienced clinicians and provide psychotherapy services, including mental health assessments and treatment planning.
- Lead group psychotherapy or psychoeducational health and wellness sessions.
- Manage a client caseload that meets your educational program requirements.
- Document client interactions according to ODMH and agency standards.
- Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings and participate in at least one hour of supervision for every 10 hours of client care.
- Develop individualized treatment plans.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, art therapy, or a related field.
- Active enrollment in a master's degree program for social work, counseling, art therapy, or marriage and family therapy.
- Completed coursework in diagnosis, theories, and group process.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CT or SWT status.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to working cooperatively within a team.
